Is it deep fried potato terrine? Got something like it in a breakfast place once, lovely with poached eggs. However if I asked for chips and got served this I would accept my time, keep to myself and hopefully get out early for good behavior.

I am being unfair, we're not too bad these days. I grew up with an Irish mammy who cooked meat until it was DONE and vegetables until the were almost without substance. In the early 90s we became very exotic and discovered bolognese, served with spuds of course. Boxty is very good.

Speaking for all of the Irish, I can safely say that not one Irish person could come up with 5 traditional Irish recipes let alone 35. Spuds, all we eat is spuds. The Irish have been eating spuds for at least 4 millenia. St. Brendan brought spuds back long before Columbo, Fact.
