Foucault's Pendulum is even more anti-fascist IMHO - I recently re-read it shortly after having read his Ur-Fascism essay, and themes from the one just constantly turn up in the other

I was thinking about these issues while listening to this BBC doc a few days ago www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m... I think people looking from outside at the scientific "social circle" don't realise how demanding peer review is, or more broadly how it is possible to *fail* as a scientist
