Over the past year I have had a miserable time for most of it, and I began to look for inspiration of things to keep me going. This post of yours, this elephant, is one I keep coming back to.

I don't want to be, but I know enough social sciences to see the pattern. And sadly, this is a pattern that extends back to Reagan. Which is why I believe this is entirely about a generational difference.
The upside is that it makes the change less flimsy, but change takes longer is the downside.

This type of anti-scientific thinking is typically generational. It'll change, but it is likely going to take upwards of a generation to do so because those who believe it can't be around to keep spreading it.
