While other Scottish councils spent their share of nature/coastal adaptation funds on... nature/the coast, Shetland slushed the money into its general coffers for stuff like IT and vehicle maintenance.

Shaetlan has finally been recognised as a language in its own right.

Two fishermen are broken, sunburnt and sore after walking 40 miles on Tuesday – but say it was worth it to help raise much-needed funds for the RNLI.

Two proposed wind farms on the island of Yell now have a grid connection date – but it is only scheduled for late 2032.
A spokesperson for developer Statkraft said they expect construction to begin on the Energy Isles and Beaw Field wind farms in 2029/30.
