The Children of Clay

Loved that game, takes 25 minutes to finish, is free, no excuses.
Interesting take on atmospherical horror and the use of folklore to do so.
Even if the game is short, you instantly feel immersed, which is pretty impressive. The artstyle is also very nice

Feels nice to play this game again and finally achieve a victory. Got the Enlightenment Asciension. I like discovering roguelite games that are pretty different than the other. It was hard turning off the game, I always felt like I was close to the end. It was also hard not playing with the wiki tho

Been reading Ajin: Demi-Human. It's pretty interesting and isn't really long, could easily go in my top 5 I think

The Finals is finally back in open beta, free on steam. It's definitely worth trying, the buildings are fully destructible, the basic gamemode is 3v3v3. It's fast and fun, and the game looks really good. 3 different classes, a lot of different loadouts and stuff you can unlock, it's very nice

Talking about games that recently finally got their 1.0, Barotrauma is pretty good, I still have to play the campain but can't really enjoy it in solo, too hardcore and way more fun when playing with friends. It appears to be -30% off on steam by the way. Definitely worth it with some friends.

First glimpse of Dread Delusion on steam. Love the way it looks. I've seen people talking about it as "Morrowindesque" and as a "bite sized Elder Scrolls". I saw no one complain and for now the game is pretty nice!

DayZ

I started this game again a few days ago, and finally got to enjoy it. I got pretty lucky finding friendly people, to be honest, I never found betrayers yet, only people that killed me before I could even see them. I’m playing on a Vanilla+ server which is pretty nice

Fallout 1

My favorite Fallout was New Vegas for a very long time, and I still think it is one of the best. But when I finally played Fallout 1, and got to understand the game after a few attemps, I understood why a lot of people say that the older games are better.

Simcity 4

For me, there is no better city builder/city management game than Simcity 4. This game exist since 2003 and still looks amazing, the style is unmatched and the ost is amazing. The OST is actually ONE OF the best I’ve ever heard, people usually never guess it’s from-

Morrowind

I’m not sure if this one is surprising or not. I feel like the immersion in Morrowind is amazing. No HUD that tells you everything, etc, thus you really feel like you’re doing the work, that you’re the one in the game.-

Minecraft

This one is obvious, yet it’s not that obvious for me. It does feel like home because it’s one of the first game I played a lot when I was younger. But the updates makes it hard to feel this familiarity with the game I once had.

Space Station 14

This game being present in this thread might or might not be a surprise. To have a whole station being handled by the players and seeing the same players from rounds to rounds, add to that the RP element of the game, and it’s easy to understand why-

Your Only Move is HUSTLE

A versus fighting game, but turn based. I LOVE this game, being able to guess what the opponents next move will be, finally making a huge combo, still dying but having a perfect replay to watch in the end. Amazing.

Chants of Sennaar
I’m someone who’s personnally really enjoy everything that revolves arround languages and especially how they are formed, linguistic and all. I really loved this game. The core mechanic was reallyb good and again, having to think without absurd puzzles was nice

Return of the Obra Dinn
I really loved this game, started it two days ago and finished it the same day, no stop. I’m really starting to go back into these "puzzle" games that actually require you to think without being absurd in their solutions.
