Have been to several great cafes/bike shops.

Oh, I could name some institutions which would give a lot for this being their worst failure...

Certainly an issue that journalists seem to not realise that the other 99.99% of the population don't care quite as much as who briefed/leaked what to whom and when as journalists do...

Absolutely! My line is probably between early and late Beethoven...

But what we do without a public inquiry?

Has he actually apologised for sexually harassing a mentee? Or only for discussing harassing a mentee with Epstein?

Don't think "revealed" does justice to Summers?

I'd use "confirmed".

(I do think there are many introductions that contain too much fluff. Tell me what's in the paper, don't spend the first 2 pages just giving me a generic introduction to the field.)

Hmm. I very rarely see papers getting shorter in peer review, and see many getting longer.

Is it any consolation to learn that since I have read your book (and used it for a final year project), I cannot hear or read "bullshit" without thinking of Harry Frankfurt, Carl Bergstrom and Jevin West?

Completely unrelated, I am sure.

Do you know about the post masters scandal in the UK? Same principle, much bigger stakes (jail) and scale.

The Royal Mail IT system flagged hundreds of postmasters for embezzlement of funds. And it took decades until courts acknowledged the IT system was faulty. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British...

IMO Open Street Maps + battery pack is safer in practice than relying on old-fashioned maps when hiking. People did get lost before smartphones existed.

And all this in the context where the prior (at least) 5 centuries of British history can roughly be understood as a struggle to put constraints and accountability on the throne.
