Here is an animated version of the graphic. If each colonisation wave takes 2 weeks, it will take 38 years for humanity to spread this far at the proposed 10ly range.

Before we get racing as a gameplay feature, the community could set up racing tracks, airshow trackside beacons, goalposts (for Guardian Orb Football) or anything they want with these beacons.
