They're also pretty dangerous if you get anything wrong. Not a problem for someone with decades of experience, like RCA had, but if a start up makes any mistakes in manufacturing, it can be a massive problem.

I think you misunderstand the complaint. It's not that you used GenAI instead of hiring an artist for a quick joke. It's that you used GenAI period. Many people see it as an inherently unethical technology without any acceptable use case.
