Ardent in the pursuit of Christ, a sinner saved by grace and sustained by His love and mercy | Sharing His Word through threads.
It is never Santa or Rudolf the red nose reindeer;
it is always the Saviour who died on the cross for our sins.

Peter’s life story was seen first in Matthew where Jesus met him where he was, fishing in the Sea of Galilee. There Jesus called onto him and his brother, Andrew, to follow Him.

Peter and Andrew were a fishermen chosen by Jesus to be fishers of men.

The world has various distractions; from our secular work to studying, and even the entertainment industry that tries to feed us with content, comfort, and being “accepted”—deceiving us from our great purpose.

As Christians, we often do something out of the purpose of good intentions. We want to be of use to God, a vessel that He uses to do good and spread His Word, to do our purpose: The Great Commission.

But don’t you know that acting out of our own good intentions are not always good?

Jesus is one of the primary examples who did God’s Will. He is the Son of God, yes, yet He stepped down on Earth to show us the way and made a way for us to have a personal relationship with the Father by tearing the veil through crucifixion.

“Do what makes you happy.”
“Follow your heart.”

These are phrases we’ve all heard before. They sound inspiring, even empowering — but in truth, they’ve deceived many, especially young people searching for meaning and direction in life. I, too, once believed in these words.

Let's cut through the confusion about God's will. We often search for it in signs or feelings, but the most foundational, undeniable truth about His will is revealed in the Bible.

When we look at the life of David, we often see him as the shepherd boy who defeated Goliath, the king who ruled Israel, and the psalmist after God’s own heart. But what we sometimes forget is how much David’s life was shaped by discipline.

Saying yes to Christ means being His disciple. The Greek Word for disciple means mathētēs (μαθητής), which means a learner, student, or apprentice.

This only signifies that in the process of becoming a learner and a follower, you have to be disciplined in able for you to be like Him.

Saying yes to Christ does not mean everything would be smooth sailing. There would be various things that may happen. Challenges that will ooze out our inner darkness and resurface them—A cleansing of one’s soul.

Why?

Because God loves us; that is why He disciplines us.

To our Filipino Government Officials,

Don’t you know that our God hate robbery? Injustice? Wrongdoing?

Don’t you know that He shields the oppressed? That He is faithful and He will fight for us, to give back our recompense—an everlasting covenant that will bring justice to the poor.

Being ardent amidst this cold world is undeniably difficult, challenging, hard–you name it. Living in this life will make us feel like we are alone.
