Thank you for being so persistent in helping me see that I lost the plot. You’re very patient and kind. I apologize. I’m gonna turn off the news and think about what I’ve done over in the corner.

Please forgive me. Seeing so many ppl argue that because Gavin is bad, this stuff doesn’t matter was giving me an aneurysm last night. I came back to social for the first time in years bc of this and my exuberance got the way of my reading comprehension. I’m so sorry. 😞

Hahaha!! Omg you’re right! I’m an ass! I think I’m just so upset about all this shit, my brain isn’t working right. (I apologize to you and Sheryl. Trying to tag you guys but I can’t see your usernames while typing.)

I don’t want anyone to torture and kill you. I love my trans friends, and I would give my life for them. And if shitting on me tonight gives you a little much needed satisfaction in this shit show world, I’m here for it. Do your worst.

Gavin’s crazy publicity tour is drawing attention away from the real issue and I’m trying to bring it the attention back to what’s going on. Ignoring this bc Gavin is an ass means ignoring this issue. I’m just saying look into it. If the Republicans win this, elections won’t matter anymore.
August 20, 2025 at 2:47 AM
There is a state representative being held against her will in the TX legislature right now and you still don’t understand what I’m trying to say. I’m not trying to get anyone elected. This is about a ballot initiative in CA and maybe other states too now.
August 20, 2025 at 2:44 AM
All I want is for people to know about the ballot initiative and what it’s for. And that it’s not just about Gavin Newsom as much as we hate the idea of him being governor anymore let alone any other office. That’s all I’m trying to say.
August 20, 2025 at 2:42 AM
What do you think the comms people’s posts are about? A TX state
rep is being held against her will tonight by Republicans because of this. Gavin has gone overboard with his cringe posts, but they were to promote the nov vote in CA to cancel out what’s happening in Texas. This isn’t just about him.
August 20, 2025 at 2:39 AM
I’m trying to spread the word about this important ballot initiative. It’s blowing my mind how so many of you seem to think this is just about Gavin. A state rep is being held against her will in the Texas state house tonight because of this fight. If we lose, elections won’t matter anymore.
August 20, 2025 at 2:20 AM
A state rep in TX being held against her will in the chamber tonight because of redistricting fight. If the GOP wins, all the talk of future elections won’t matter. As governor right now, Gavin is in a unique position to push back. He’s an ass but no one else is doing anything like it.
August 20, 2025 at 2:15 AM
The governor’s race isn’t even on my radar I guess because so many lives are at stake. The speaker said he’d let TX redistrict but not CA. That terrifies me. I guess I’m on a one track mind when it comes to Gavin Newsom right now. I just want to see this bill get a fair shake in spite of him.
August 19, 2025 at 5:45 PM
I’m also just very scared right now because I see what’s happening and I feel helpless. As much as I dislike Gavin, this bill gave me some hope. I live in downtown Los Angeles and it’s really scary to think that this isn’t just a moment in time. This could get much worse.
August 19, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Thank you, but I don’t think I am. The only reason why his coms people are posting right now is to drum up support for the bill. You might notice that all of those posts he has been doing has something to do with maps. He’s trying to get attention to that bill which is about the redistricting maps.
August 19, 2025 at 5:31 PM
Smh - that’s literally the only thing I’m talking about. The best way to keep this bill from succeeding is to confuse it with voting FOR Gavin. I care a great deal about whether or not it passes because I love people who are being hurt the most right now.
August 19, 2025 at 5:15 PM
I’m sorry, are you talking to me? If you don’t bother to read then why reply. If you want the red states to get their way, do your thing!
August 19, 2025 at 5:09 PM
Yes, but the ONLY thing I’ve been talking about is the redistricting bill to combat republican gerrymandering. If we conflate that with voting for Gavin, we’re in big trouble. This is the best idea so far and I don’t care whose idea it was. I just want to keep the right to vote again in the future.
August 19, 2025 at 5:05 PM
We’re talking about a bill to vote on whether or not we redistrict California to combat red state gerrymandering, right? Not a vote for Gavin. If the red states get their way right now, there will be no more voting. This bill was Gavin’s idea, but the vote is not about whether or not we like him.

Have you seen all these posts? I haven’t heard one good argument against it that doesn’t have something to do with either blindly holding on to the “norms” or what a jackass Gavin is. I’d really rather talk about the merit of the bill, but I keep hearing that this vote will make Gavin president.
August 19, 2025 at 4:54 PM
I agree 100%, liberals have never been on our side. The UK should’ve been a warning but we didn’t listen. I’m not in any party but I still vote for ideas I think may work and make life better for the marginalized. Gavin isn’t the answer, but this crazy vote might help keep it from getting worse.
August 19, 2025 at 4:49 PM
I know that and I hate it. I wish there was a perfect way to do this - to be a good citizen. I hate how afraid my trans friends and Hispanic friends are right now. If the red states get what they want, things will get so much worse. I think this plan might work so I’m voting for IT, not for Gavin.
August 19, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Just to be sure, we’re talking about a vote on a strategy against red state gerrymandering, right? Not on a vote for any person. But unlike fascists, at least we get to vote on it and not have it imposed upon us. That’s pure enough for me to help us get back to the possibility of voting Gavin out.
August 19, 2025 at 4:33 PM
You’re right, I definitely don’t want lead in my jewelry. But our democracy is so messed up right now that it may as well be radioactive. We have to do a lot of work to get back to even somewhat healthy. The only form of government that aims for “purity” is fascism.
