No Man’s Sky is such a unique game. It’s been receiving free updates for 10 years now. With the recent Voyager update, it somehow reached the highest online player count in the last 8 years, making a great comeback. I really love this old-school approach to maintaining a game. #nomanssky

This video reminded me somewhat of the sunset sky over planet Merlin in the Ross 154 system in Frontier Elite. Maybe that's what Merlin would look like in real life, and maybe one day we'll get to land through a sky with this level of detail in a game.

#Andor is great but I'm a little tired of Disney trying to close every plothole in Star Wars with fake patches. Please leave original trilogy alone. You don't have to repair it... It's so obvious, and that parsec patch... Oh man..

When you are researching pirates, you want to know more about the man behind it. i can say sid meier was/is my hero, but how did I miss the book? Anyway It’s a late but fine addition to my library :) Great read, I highly recommend it.

Researching Pirates, There are 5 unused .win images: Ship, On Fire, Docks, Fort, Rescue (7.6KB total, viewable via PirateView). I’ve contacted Nostalgia (they repacked thegame in 2012). The person behind it is s!r, who’s apparently been planning to put together an info PDF about the game ever since.

Pirates reverse-engineering continues... Graphics are now extracted. The attention to detail is insane: multi-layered interchangeable face sprites, dynamic backgrounds, clothing and hair color variations. All this with BASIC in 87?! This is next-level! This is the AAA of its time. Huge fan.

Trying to reverse-engineer the original Sid Meier's Pirates! C64 code. Written in BASIC, split into 3 parts due to ram constraints. It uses external data files paired with graphics and other assets-spread across two disks, totaling a whopping 232KB. Help is appreciated! :) github.com/ref-xx/Basic...

The ultimate IDE for ZX Spectrum development is back with new features and dozens of bug fixes.

After Two Long Years, I managed to release one more BasinC Update. It's bumped to 1.8 now.

Another #ZXSpectrum game screen update examination! This is famous "Cobra", a masterpiece of coding by Jonathan Smith (aka.Joffa) It's one of the first game to use 4-way pixel based screen scolling. This requires careful timing on spectrum as there is no hardware to scroll the screen or the sprites!

My #ZXSpectrum debugging #emulator (Zex) can analyse how games write to screen by trapping opcodes. This game is starquake, a simple sprite based game, which erases and draws sprites on screen by using a series of LD (HL),A opcode, basically bruteforcing Z80 and RAM. More to come!

ZX Spectrum'u bilmeyenler için, normalde bu grafik spectrum şöyle görünecekti (8x8lik alanda sadece 2 renk), yani bu yeni teknikle daha fazla detay ve renk bir arada kullanılabiliyor, bu, spectrumda daha önce bu ölçekte yapılmamıştı, bu da benim hobim işte :D #demoscene

Madem buraya geçiyoruz, ben de bu aralar uğraştığım birşeyi paylaşayım. Bu yeni bir gfx editörü, çıktısı zx spectrum formatı ama normalde spectrum'un grafik çipinin görüntüleyemeyeceği bir formatı raster kovalayarak görüntülüyor.

Mucize beklemeyin ama zx spectrum için sıra dışı çıktılar üretiyor :)
