Look, I wouldn't feel this way if it weren't for the antler holes in my car, frank.

Good, they still are stupid idiots.

Just days after calling them stupid idiots?

Why not both? :3

Ahh, the Fairlight really is just the gift that keeps on giving. Genuinely a bottomless well of cool sounds and creations.

for reference, I use a Motu M2 and an AKG P420. Probably overkill for you, but that interface is literally rock solid and has never had any issues despite being treated less than nicely by me.

True, SM57s and EV RE20s make the world go round. Nothing those microphones can't do, in my opinion.

Sennheiser MD421s are really cool, too.

Make that 3, the AT 2020s are cool!

AKG makes some really nice stuff too.

Oh, I see you mentioned Rode, those Re great too! Brand loyalty doesn't matter as much with audio, although others will disagree with me. What works, works.

The nice thing about XLR mics is if you get one and you don't like it, keep the original packaging and resell it, and try something else.

Honestly, I won't suggest a "desktop mic" unless you really feel unsure about and/or you don't want a real XLR mic.

I think you would be golden with a MOTU M2 or any decent 2x2 interface, an XLR cable, and any AT or EV or Shure mic that fits your budget. Consider buying used, good deals out there.

Or G-wolf, but that makes me think of a car, LOL

Nah, almost never. Most of them are just the garment maker covering their ass in my experience, and sometimes they actually give bad advice, LOL

90% of the time I do a normal cold wash, cold rinse and tumble dry on low heat for every single garment I wear. Only exception is dress suit pants, etc.
