Building a home for villagers in our game exploring and understanding an alien world. Also some more polish on the day/night cycle. #indiedev #gamedev #ue5

When you try applying an effect designed for post-processing on a transparent object just to see if it works (not as intended, no)

What kind of alien vegetation wouldn't retract when you ran through a patch of it?

Exploring #Unreal 's #PCG system has lead to some interesting results. Case 1: mushroom tunnels are cool. Case 2: a whole bunch of mushrooms placed perfectly evenly in a pattern looks a lot like scales.

Who is this who is this? We're delighted to share the first view of a major character in our quirky game about cozy villagers figuring out how to survive in an alien world. We can't wait to share more!

Swapped shaders and math for modeling and Blender for the past few days as we begin work on the starter village. One landmark building down, a village's worth of houses to go. Anyone recognize the real world building that inspired this one?

In #VR #gamedev, one of our goals is to design what you interact with to feel as real as possible. This selector allows you to pick the prey you want your hunters to pursue. Now only the elk is available but we'll update it for the others as the models are done. It's fun to see this coming together.

When I first got a VR headset, I was surprised to find what I found most engaging wasn't the immersive view, though that was cool, it was the tactile experience of interacting with virtual objects and how easy it was to fool my brain into thinking they were real... 1/2
