Decades watching Republicans work the refs til everyone in media is scared to point out their blatant misconduct, of setting up the court system to make sure they chosen venues have outsized influence to shape the USA, of Democrats too timid to throw elbows…

Also someone can have been involved in things that are good - like exposing info in the public interest - and *still do horrible things*.

A ton of lefties don’t seem to have a handle on the idea that JA might have both done necessary work AND also committed SA.

The LLM tech is nowhere near the point where it could write something compelling or memorable. But because neither the hedge fund predators nor the executive suite assholes understand or value the difference between barely readable slop and artistic brilliance, they don’t care.

Because for all their talk of democratisation and what this will do for everyday folks, the customers for this scam aren’t you and me. They’re the suits who hire and manage the people who are currently doing these tasks. And they’re being told AI will cull their employee budgets.

Almost every *actual* use case that has been implemented is basically some variant of “stop paying qualified, trained, experienced, skilled people to do a thing, fire them all and make someone on a lower wage finesse the garbage this black box outputs”.

No we’re observers of what happens when VC cons biz execs into cutting personnel “costs” with a gimmick.
