I'll jump on #TrailTuesday with a photo of a quick hike to Thunderbird Falls just north of #Anchorage.

It's a great short hike for smaller kiddos getting introduced to hiking and nature.

Sometimes our feet get tired...

#Nuclear waste is about to be fast tracked without environmental permits or considerations. I grew up near these waters and now I'm not sure future generations will be able to enjoy them.

Ahh a personal #favorite the #DollyVarden. These, along with #trout , and #grayling #fish hang behind the spawing #salmon population and wait for the rogue egg to slurp up.

#Western #AK #locals rely on these fish as much as salmon for food and each play important parts in each other's #ecosystems

As I advocate for public lands I can attest #hunters and #fishermen take some of the best care of these spaces. I know #DOGE AND THE #FOTUS are actively looking to shrinking #national monuments, parks, and spaces. We can extract resources carefully and efficiently while still protecting our spaces.

Today's I decided to maintain my peace and hike our #AK #state lands. Just a quick hike with the wife and kiddo to a #waterfall. It was good to get out to this state #park when #federal lands are essentially being abandoned.

This mornings #science and #nature notes from the #field comes all the way from my time in #Guam.

After stumbling through #typhoon rains I ran into this #unusual #specimen. I believe it was a #waxcap #mushroom but not sure. Thus began my mushroom #photo journey.

Today's photo from the field is a Cloudberry. According to UAF Rubus chamaemorus L.
is known in Alaska by several common names However, cloudberry is the name most often used
throughout North America. This berry grows almost exclusively in circumpolar regions and is prized in western Alaska.

Credit to @visittucson.bsky.social 's #tiktok.

This is an incredible story about #blackhistory and provides insight into #history that is trying to be erased. #Context matters and we need #people to provide that and to tell the #stories.

Lived in #Tucson for 5 beautiful years.

I've only lived in Alaska a year and am grateful for the aurora everytime!
