Don't know if it would apply for your game, but make the level transition into different rooms and/or make use of exiting the building regularly, only to re-enter somewhere else. Think climbing a castle tower, only to travel across ramparts to another section or part of the keep. Modern scaffolding?

Even if the game isn't super great, I'd infinitely rather drop 20-30 bucks on 3-4 middling to decent experiences that give me 10-15 hours of fun than 80 dollar battlepass nightmares that try to suck me dryer than the local dock workers. I think (and I pray) the needle is moving that way overall.

The level of brainrot from a self identified 'Apple Elitist' is absolutely crazy. What an Apple does to an MF. 💀

Depends on what it'll be ontop of I think to be honest. They both look good, but the rough grass has that thick outline that the bladed does not, which I'd assume would really change how it looks in action / full scene!

Why not Mario Kart 8 2?

There's no problem with long games. I'd much rather a game be long than short, BUT that ultimately can not come at the expense of enjoyment, which is harder to do the longer the game.

Too many games are missing the fundamentals of fun and no amount of graphics, features, or padding will save them.

Nintendo is on their way to patent bulge physics for Mario as we speak don't worry.

If you seriously think their post is targeting actual individual developers and not the companies driving those decisions and direction as a whole, you're rearing for an argument no one but the most insane people are having.

I took the approach to my last project to think just hard enough to make sure the code would be scalable and fixable, but also put it down and get it working as fast as possible. Lots of TODO and FIXMEs, but never bad enough that I had to rip anything out entirely and start over from scratch.

In all honesty that review reads like a 4chan shit post. You should be proud that someone was either mad or invested enough to put those 'thoughts' to words.

=S =S XOXO

Let's leave it at, "It both makes sense and I'm still mad."

"If Roblox isn't gamedev, then why is there porn of it?"
Checkmate.

Ah, I love developers who on one hand, want to be the struggling little guy with relatable problems, and then on the other, belittle and look down on the masses.

I'm just going to assume you're referring to some recent issue and should take whatever L you're trying to skirt. Infuriating.

I'm surprised BSA got with the times and introduced more 'modern' merit badges! Is the information focused on board games and its implementation, or is there something more to it? (I'm only assuming so since asking kids to code up a prototype in GMS/Unity/Whatever feels little out of scope).

Art.

I am 200% confident in my ability to solve basically any programming or design issue I need to handle, but by the gods developing programmer assets and art draws my development speed to a crawl. It looks like garbage, takes me literally forever, and demotivates me from the project entirely. :(
