I also completed an internship with the Malheur National Forest and volunteered on my first Passport In Time project in 2016. That internship and the Heritage Program Manager, Don, are the reason I decided to become a federal Archaeologist.

I was able to complete a survey of a multicomponent site with my friend/ex-coworker during my internship during graduate school. The best was hearing live ammunition training at the nearby white supremacist compound.
