Never hurts to ask! Maybe they’ll start one if they don’t have one already. That’s how Indie Authors have grown in the community where I live. We don’t have a supportive bookstore BUT we have a very supportive Librarian who helps us have a shelf and signings.

I’m not sure, but I recommend going to local bookstores and asking about their ‘local author’ shelves. That’s how I was able to find out which indie bookstores support indie authors.

It’s so much fun! Go for it!

Yes I love working with authors and artists of all kinds and all budgets. That’s usually where all the fun work comes from!

Same! Mines debuting in January and I can’t wait. To get the proof in the mail was amazing! It’s about a girl and her adventure to find out the truth and save the world from a genocidal dictator within 12 hours.

Fr- and if they don’t have the ‘time’ to look, they can try and learn how to draw themselves. While drawing can come naturally- it can be learned too! Art/skill trades are also an option that most people don’t consider.

I whole heartedly agree- there is nothing worse and Author can do for themselves than use AI art. It’s lazy and also shows how little they value their own work. Especially if done by an Indie Author!

If you have an indie that takes orders for print, order from them. If you’re e/audio person any retailer or your library is the way to go if you want to help authors. Dont have a local indie, try bookshop.org
Bookshop: Buy books online. Support local bookstores.
An online bookstore that financially supports local independent bookstores and gives back to the book community.
