I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
Go off, queen.

After that the cat was sort of out of the bag when I was older and my parents would just let me watch whatever I wanted (with a few very distinct caveats). It ended up being a pretty wholesome exploration of art, as it didn't just extend to movies but books, a lot of TV and video games.

My grandmother would routinely show me both Terminator and Aliens as a toddler. I vividly remember watching Terminator 2 at 3 or 4 years old and was absolutely blown away. My favorite movie to this day.

My parents were not very happy about my Grandmother for doing this.

I saw it in a packed theater opening night to a crowd that absolutely loved it.

The only even remotely high profile person I've seen say this at any time was Hasan Piker a few years ago, and he got at least some backlash for it.

I don't think it was a trick so much as playing into a fantasy trope (that martin later subverts, much like he does all over this series). A lot of fantasy books were/are kind of YA before that was even a genre.

So now, thanks to @elieyoung.bsky.social, I finally took the plunge on my birthday. There is, after all, this little series that I helped create and which will always be this amazing thing I once worked on - no matter how long I'm away from it.

Which is to say: happy Dragon Age Day, everyone. 😘

This doesn't really refute what I'm saying at all and smells like bullshit to me.

First of all there's no reason a public option can't be mostly tax supported with a cap on out of pocket expenses and have automatic enrollment, as well as lower the price of insurance and increasing coverage.

I sincerely believe our best way forward is a public option. Make the insurance companies compete with a government plan that doesn't have to operate at a profit. We don't ban health insurance, we force health insurance to get better with competition. Like with the USPS and other mail carriers.

Really interested in discovering how the millions of Irish immigrants from the late 19th and early 20th century recreated the potato famine in the US.

In a just world both home schooling and private schools would be illegal.

Or my second favorite thing, they scale up what being rich means. "Eat the rich! But not me, I'm not rich my net worth is only 5 million!"

Being poor is seen as being relatable, which is why so many leftists cosplay being poor.
