Yeah, very unfortunate. @johnmkoster.bsky.social has been sharing some very promising optimizations on that other place (x.com/johnmkoster/...), would be awesome to see those make their way into the core.

Ah, gotcha. The .zshrc file isn't necessarily located in ~. Could perhaps be a good idea to check the ZDOTDIR variable before writing to it.
