*Very* nice. All that blonde hair reminds me of the original, at least from my perspective; Helen Mirren as Morgana

Not happy! 😧
A while ago, my favourite keyboard, Minuum was removed from the #Google App Store. I bought this keyboard not long after it was released (2016?), and after a phone upgrade, it failed to appear. It has been working file all this time, and takes up very little space.

… actually, when I first saw this, I was reminded of "The Eye of Vogler" from the "Giant Robo" anime. It is sitting on a shelf with DVDs of the series within.

NOT favourite #Scifi movie ☹
Ghost in the Shell 2017

It was as bad as I expected it to be.
It included elements that Oshii added, not part of the story, but his signature he adds to all his films.
But the most striking omission was a "Ghost" in the "Machine" 🤦‍♂️

The Mangas were better!

Akira 1988 by ‎Katsuhiro Otomo

When the movie was announced, I was reading the Manga, which went on hiatus during production, and I was worried that the movie might spoil the Manga.
There are obvious similarities, but still radically different.

This movie was memorable!

Spacing Guild High-liner from Frank Herbert's Dune franchise

It's pretty much just a hollow cylinder with compartments for the "Navigator", the propulsion (the Holtzman drive), and support crew.
The rest is cargo space. It's big and impressive!

Dune (1984) Lynch

Probably a controversial choice, given the remakes, but it has so many great elements; Sets, Costumes, Casting, Music, Creature effects.

As much as I enjoyed the theatrical cut, my preferred is the Spicediver edit. Seems closer to Lynch's intended.

Fantastic #Scifi movie
The Andromeda Strain (1971)

Robert Wise's version is a great hard drama about a extra-terrestrial infection and a race against time to identify and immunise against.

The documentary style, and split screen presentation made it memorable.

Of the remake. Nope. Really bad.

It's not often that I read something that makes me laugh out loud, literally, but today's episode of Questionable Content did.

I've been reading this for quite a few years, following the adventures of the array of characters.

It's here; questionablecontent.net
this is page 5428, so there's history

Liberator from Blake's 7

I thought this ship had a great looking design.
The main drive, glowing green when active was an aspect I quite liked, and the 3 weapon nacelles made it look as formidable as it was.

Space Battleship Yamato

Who else but Matsumoto would put a WWII naval battleship into space?

Also known as "Star Blazers" in its initial western release.

The great looking ship housed a great set of stories, with action and adventure.

RMS Nike from the Honor Harrington novels.

The whole space flight and war engagement concept of this story was quite interesting, and I became quite enthralled after the first book.

FTL was a mix of treacherous and exciting, and battles spanned vast distances.

💯🚀

Captain Harlock's Arcadia.

Like much of Matsumoto's animations, it is an anachronism. A spacecraft shouldn't look like a "wind-jammer". But his style has always been a favourite.

Eagle from #Space1999
This one has to be my all time favourite. Of all the ones that I have seen over the years, this one looks the most practical and utilitarian.
It takes a few shortcuts with technology to operate, nuclear reaction propulsion, and gravity control.
