None. Sorry. Yes, it could be any day now. In the past year or so, the ARC has tweeted a heads-up 1 or 2 working days before each scheme's announcement. They haven't done that yet, but I presume they will. I'll repost that here on Bluesky (and Mastodon).

They've tweeted (!) a heads-up a working day or two beforehand for every scheme for a while now (maybe a year or more). And because no-one's on twitter, the only people who see it are those who see me post it here. Sad, really.

If they decided *not* to do it, would they tell us? Probably not.

I think so, yes. I anticipate the caps won't apply in DE27. But I guess we will know if they apply to DE26 or not pretty soon!

Hard to pick “trend” for any specific scheme. Last year ARC accidentally (read “incompetently”) leaked DECRA results on Friday arvo ahead of formal release and were forced to announce on the Saturday. You may surmise that picking trends amid such chaos is probably best left for after-work drinks :)

The “Data” link has all the info, for all the schemes, in one place. Generally outcomes have been announced ahead of schedule, or near the start of the scheduled window. But recently some schemes have been in the 2nd week, probably coz of new security procedures ARC has to do.

I agree. This is probably security-related checks, aligned with the new processes brought about by the new legislation. This is also probably the reason that not all DP or LP results have yet been released.

There'a also a big ol' spreadsheet published by the Dept. somewhere, but I just can't find it right now. Will try to keep looking.

I haven't seen a recent one. I had an old thread on twitter about it, when ARC published some data on it, but that was back in 2020 (data up to 2019).

One could look at the ARC's "grant datasheet" thingy here: www.arc.gov.au/funding-rese... . Doesn't seem to work for me at the moment!

See DM I just sent you 😀

I don't disagree with anything you've said, but for more context, this old thread might help 👇

I don't trust averaging of very digitised scores, or the normalisation of those things, very much at all. I have never seen a worked example of any of this with enough detail to address these concerns.
“Why did the College kill my grant?”

Yesterday was the first time most of us have received assessor scores with our #DiscoveryProjects rejections.

Many are puzzled:
All As/Bs from Detailed (peer, expert) Assessors but Cs/Ds/Es from General Assessors (College members).

I'm sorry, by the way. That really sucks.

To my mind, peer review works well enough for judging if something is worth publishing, but a lot less well when ranking a bunch of proposals, of which only the top N% will be funded (where N is <50 or something). The "it's the best way" excuse wears thin when so few other things have been tried.
October 29, 2025 at 12:22 AM
This one is the same as last year, but it took a massive drop when the 2-stage system was introduced … from an already record low of ~17%. Graphs and thread from last year 👇
Yesterday was an improvement for Discovery Projects.

An extra ~$110 million was invested compared to last year (which was a low point).

It replaces rapid loss in last 2 years & aligns investment with the last 12 years (adjusted for inflation).

Not enough, but a start!

If some DECRA recipients are told under embargo, it won’t be until a few days before the formal announcement. A few years ago, ARC told a some (not all) DECRAs they were funded, under embargo, before the formal announcement. Not clear to me why, and I don’t think they’ve done it again since.
October 28, 2025 at 4:47 AM
I suspect some grants are still being assessed for security issues. If that’s the case, I am very glad they’ve managed to separate that process out and not make an announcement of the other grants contingent upon all security issues being finalised.

Yes, I suspect so.

Note that the success rate above (47.3%) is for the full applications only.

The real success rate for #DP26 is 12.9% because 4063 EOIs were submitted.

Of those, 1127 were shortlisted & invited to submit full apps. 1111 ended up being submitted.
