The new application cycle for the Max Planck School of Cognition has started.

5/ The summer institute also had over 15 talks and workshops on topics ranging from heuristics and collective intelligence to public discourse and adolescent mental health, and two lively poster sessions.

4/ Our program included three exceptional keynote lectures by Amy Orben (@orbenamy.bsky.social), Marc Stadtler (@marcstadtler.bsky.social), and Robert N. Proctor, each offering a unique and thought-provoking perspective on decision making.

3/ Early-career researchers from around the world joined us in Berlin to share their insights on rationality, cognition, and decision-making. The exchange of ideas across disciplines, cultures, and methods made the institute an even more inspiring and intellectually stimulating place last week.

2/ We discussed how people make decisions under real-world constraints of uncertainty, limited time, and social complexity. This year’s theme, “Decision Making in a Digital World”, explored how recent technological advances and rapidly changing information environments impact human decision-making.

We wrapped up the 22nd Summer Institute on Bounded Rationality at the Center for Adaptive Rationality at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development (@mpib-berlin.bsky.social).
