Thinking of the importance of today and the line from Basil Buntings poem about the river Tyne. 'The Tyne, the Tyne the coaly Tyne, yer bastard!' I worked on the Tyne and can understand these word perfectly.

Loved John Tudor - his greatest goal turned out that didn’t count. It was the diving header against Forest in that infamous quarter final match at SJP ‘ . I watched it from the Leazes end - just brilliant ! Condolences to all his family & friends .
Very, very sorry to hear of the passing of ex #NUFC striker John Tudor - part of the Joe Harvey team when I first started going to games in my childhood. A great foil for Supermac and loved on the Leazes End … condolences to his many friends and family

Curious isn't it? When there's a heatwave the papers are full of advice on staying cool and comfortable, conversely when it's freezing cold and certain folks can't afford to heat their homes, no advice on offer. Do we care old folk are at risk of hyperthermia or worse or are guilty ignoring them?
