Cool, but were talking about D&D not Lord of the Rings. And for D&D, orcs have been able to be good and peaceful for 40 years across 4 editions.

In 5e, the same is still true, and now they are explicitly shown in core as not completely evil. And all of the people complaining about this are either fucking tourists who have never read any older works of the game or nasty little racist grognards upset at a battle they lost decades ago.

Orcs havent been the way Gygax or Tolkein described them for four editions. In AD&D2e they were often not evil, and were proven to be evil only because of culture thanks to the Ondonti, LG farmer pacifist orcs. 3e their alignment was Often Evil, meaning many werent evil at all. 4e had non evil orcs.

Yes it can, because societies focused on love are better for all involved than societies where love is not present or neglected. Look around you at the ways the right-wing spurns love for minorities and others, and why their societies are cruel and inevitably fail. Love binds people together.

Yes. Because we know that love feels good and has many beneficial physical effects. And yes, unloving people often lack the stimuli or are damaged in some way to render the stimuli impotent. This is well known. This doesnt render it useless or not important or any number of other things.

The idea that love isnt physical is so absurd. Every feeling you've felt, including love and the sense of beauty, are physical things, chemical reactions within your brain in response to certain stimuli creating specific thought patterns. The mysticism attached to these feelings is just ignorance.

But then I dont play or mess with 5e, preferring PF2e, and as I understand it 5e does some very stupid things to wizard spellcasting and its lore. So my examples may not be relevant anymore, considering theyre built off 3.PF.

A scroll is simply one of these prepared rituals lacking targetting data and the execute command. So all you need to cast a scroll is to say the command phrase and basically aim it.
A scroll is a gun with a bullet, and a spellbook is the blueprints on a gun and its bullet.

It actually makes sense once you understand how spells work. A wizard's spells are long rituals they cast every morning, excluding any specific targeting data and the execute command. That's what's in a spell book, all the instructions on casting the ritual plus maybe some research.
