About four years ago we lost one of our kitties to cancer. I was looking through my images for something else a few months later with another one of my cats in my lap and when I ran across my departed kitty's picture I said her name. The cat in my lap shot to her feet and looked around. She knew.

You may be on to something. There's a quirky tv show from a few years back where in one episode the Egyptian god of chaos uses a supercollider to pull Anubis through to this reality where he starts turning everyone in to werewolves. I mean, it's an explanation anyway.

We really have ended up in a completely bizarre timeline. Personally, I think it actually started going sideways after Bowie died and it just keeps getting worse from there.

It's kind of remarkable how very few conservatives grasp that these RW pundits say 90% of the crap they say for eyeballs, because eyeballs=$$. I have a family member who is like this and cannot grasp that Kirk, Limbaugh, Tucker et al are/were just blowing sunshine up her ass.

A couple years ago when that ship Ever Given was stuck in the Suez Canal for a week, at one point I ran across a comment someone made along the lines of "They should have called in the Oregon State Highway Division. This problem would have been solved yesterday." And I laughed way too hard at that.

good is good enough, but rather that good is better than bad and it's easier to nudge something that's already moving. The lesser of two evils may still be evil, but if you don't make yourself heard the greater evil wins.

I think we just have some really different views on this. I see not-voting as complacency. A lot of people don't vote because they think things are fine and won't get worse. Or they want perfect at the price of good and at the expense of those for whom it has never been good. Not to say that

And I have always seen voting as a civic responsibility to my fellow citizens. So I will always vote, and if I am not happy with any of the candidates I will pick the candidate closest to me, and find ways to convey my views to them. Otherwise how will they know what I want?

I prefer Daylight time to Standard because I'd rather have daylight last til later rather than start earlier, but overall I don't really experience a difference.

The current administration is so unutterably cruel, I can’t fathom how it’s better. Harris is a centrist but by no means as cruel. Harris wouldn’t be murdering Venezuelan fisherman. I think your heart is in the right place, but we have really different takes on voting.
