I just don't get it. There is no benefit I can see from it.

My coworkers reason to use it was that it's so easy and quick if she wants to know something.

Programming? You should still know how to do it yourself to fix the problems the LLM makes.

Creative writing? I do that for fun! I'm not gonna outsource my hobbies to a machine. Also if I'm not interested enough in a story to at least try to write it myself, why should I spend any time on it?

(and TBH, the hard part was to formulate 3 to 5 sentences why I think I'm qualified for this position. And if I had not been able to do that, I doubt that would have been qualified.)

What else is there it could potentially do for me?

For my old job, I had to write a lot of emails and never had a problem with that. I just wrote whatever I would have said to the person if I had called them or would talk in person.
Writing applications at the beginning of the year was annoying as fuck but not something I didn't needed help with

from my dishwasher to the expensive machine at work. If I want to know something about a specific animal or person or historic event or whatever, Wikipedia is still a great starting point. And for deep dives into a specific topic I have a library card (I 💖 my local library).

If I have a question I either know a real person I can ask -at work I greatly prefer to just ask a more senior coworker over trying to figure it out myself; they either know what to do or we can figure it out together- or I know where to look stuff up. All machines have user manuals,
