Neuvillette does up his tie without question, studying Wriothesley as he does so. “You look nervous.” “Well, I feel like a wreck, so I’ll take just nervous as a win,” Wriothesley drawls. He fusses with the knot Neuvillette leaves against his throat, wanting to pull it away from his skin but knowing he shouldn’t. It’s fine. He’s fine. This is all fine. Meeting his dead best friend is also fine. Totally normal. “You do not have to speak with her,” Neuvillette reminds him. “I do,” he insists. “If Clorinde’s here—” He thinks of Emily, alive on the streets of Fontaine. “Maybe this is some kind of second chance or—or something. I dunno. But I can’t not talk to her.” He huffs. “I can’t run away.”
