Rummaging in my desk drawer: here is a photo of M101 - the Pinwheel Galaxy taken in March 2022 (left) and another one taken on 6th June 2023 (right). Both taken from my garden. Can you spot supernova SN 2023ixf discovered by Koichi Itagaki on the 19th May that year? Exploded 21M years ago.

The red branch is 0.01959 subst/site, the light blue branch 0.01125 and the dark blue 0.01511. The spike alignment is 3822 nucs in length so that is 75 mutations up from RaTG13, 43 shared with BANAL-20-52 and 57 that are unique to SARS-CoV-2 - for spike alone.

The Christmas Tree Cluster, NGC2264, from last night (2 hour exposure). Completely over-processed to make it as seasonal as possible.

The two closest genomes are the two in red in this tree of known MARV diversity.
