Such a great list, only marred by the inexplicable and wholly misguided inclusion of the band that made The Holy Bible

Seemed more like it was "attacking" Americans to me 🤷‍♂️

I mean, the whole of Europe is made up of white people, why would they be saying we don't want white people being sent back here, that would make no sense

Ah, turns out I was not qualified to fully appreciate the OP!

Yeah, that is taking the piss, quite frankly.

They really do love that "blood libel" line, don't they, those Israeli spokespeople?
June 3, 2025 at 2:24 PM
These obviously fake disgust-bait fesses are so very boring
May 29, 2025 at 7:49 AM
To be entirely fair the post that inspired that comment used the verb "pour" 😬

But yeah, maybe to some uncompromising Italians it's a sign of using "substandard" tomatoes but I think to the rest of us it's just a case of adapting to naturally variable produce by seasoning to balance the flavour

It is for me, but it seems that Neopolitans have some pretty uncompromising views on the acceptability and even respectability of making pasta sauce with anything less than the best quality tomatoes in the world...
May 25, 2025 at 9:27 AM
True, but neither is compensating for not being able to use the absolute best quality tomatoes possible by adding a pinch of sugar to balance out the flavour. Sorry, Neopolitans.
May 25, 2025 at 9:24 AM
Yeah, the word "pour" should certainly not be anywhere near the subject 😄
May 25, 2025 at 9:15 AM
Actual chefs recognise that produce is variable and adjust accordingly to get the perfect result. If that means adding a pinch of sugar because the tomatoes are slightly lacking in sweetness, so be it.

Crikey this is next level. And interestingly the first Sudoku puzzle I've seen that's actually a number puzzle.
May 7, 2025 at 2:41 PM
Yeah, 100%. Just one more of the many things that highlight how irrational anti-cyclist sentiment is.
May 1, 2025 at 8:00 AM
Well, everyone's a pedestrian and they often don't get respected by drivers, so you're not entirely wrong. But I firmly believe part of the reasons cyclists are uniquely villified (and often treated accordingly) is that most road users are not cyclists, so we are subject to out-grouping pyschology.
May 1, 2025 at 7:57 AM
Good idea, but fines could easily be linked to the Blue Book valuation of the vehicle used to commit the offence, or people's annual income, with suitable minimums.

It's funny because all the apologists for Trump who pose as intelligent and rational people impervious to TDS insisted that it was *supposed to be* augmented after the fact to indicate the purported meaning of the symbols of the real tattoo, and that everyone making an issue of it was being stupid
April 30, 2025 at 2:26 PM
The mere existence of cyclists really does bring out the unthinking, lizard-brain, unreasonable dickhead in so many people.
April 30, 2025 at 1:57 PM
No there isn't, except their own laziness and/or self-inhibiting hang-ups about cycling being for kids or unsuccessful people!
April 30, 2025 at 1:51 PM
Yeah, that & the psychology of out-grouping. Everyone is a pedestrian, most ppl are also drivers, both have cause to get irritated by cyclists (even if unfairly), & relatively few have the cyclist's perspective to be able to see things the other way and not see cyclists as some homogenous "other".
April 30, 2025 at 1:49 PM
Yes, agreed. It does sound like in this case the driver was already displaying signs of continued distraction before the crash which she should have recognised and reacted to.
April 27, 2025 at 9:21 AM
Sure, but this is arguably mostly a failure of public policy, rather than of individuals for not realising so they can act accordingly (you say it's inevitable but it's also inevitable that people will naturally assume it's no different to in-car conversation)
April 26, 2025 at 10:50 PM
But taking a hands-free call isn't an offence and is generally not expected to lead to one.
