There was a dev stream recently where Rebb talked about this, the loss of lore that is, and said they're working on putting at least some of it back in. Whether that means recurring events or they're making full on quests for older stuff idk, but it's on their radar in nothing else.

And telling people they're doing themselves a disservice by not wanting to spend 20 hours watching tutorial on youtube to play a game is frankly insulting.

Never got beyond the tutorial since nothing made sense or was properly explained. Frankly BG3 has much the same problem if you don't already know some D&D. Larian really need to become better and teaching players how to play their games.
