I know everyone gets very hostile about pizza discourse (they are doing it about NY pizza in here already) but there really is something special about a good tavern style that I think you really have to try for yourself to understand, so thank you for standing up for it.

This is why they shouldn't let lawyers have twitter if they don't know how to handle it. He gave the PR answer but in that sneering way you use in online arguments where you make it clear you don't agree with what you're actually saying, but forgot he was talking to a journalist.

Not to mention that cracking relics is genuinely so satisfying of a gameplay loop, especially when you get a good squad and try to cooperatively speed run an extraction while making sure everyone nabs enough reactant along the way. I love when games encourage you to naturally work together like that

And if you want to talk about "well what if it *wasn't* easy to tell apart" than you are working in a realm of pure fantasy which nobody reasonable has any expectation of some future version of these models to ever achieve. They will not ever be "consciousness" and are not trying to be.

Just because you're too stupid to tell that the plastic carousel horse isn't the real thing doesn't mean the rest of us have to pretend it's a perfect replica that nobody could ever tell apart.

What this metaphor fails to contend with is the fact that taking a single peek into the workings of a machine learning model immediately betrays it to be entirely separate and distinct from anything anybody would recognize as "thinking" in very obvious, incontrovertible ways.
