I really want to know what they taste like as the first European person to find and take a specimen to Europe ate most of the specimen. They said the it tasted very good. They’re called Dana octopus squid because they basically lack tentacles as adults which are vestigial as adults.

The Sirens are weird and extremely basal salamanders which lack back limbs and are very long. They get their name both from their vocalization and vague appearance to something. They have very long gills, uniquely claws on hands and are omnivores.

Australia gets a cool new sea inland I guess the neo-eromanga sea. Coastal areas where a lot of people live as it’s mainly desert are displaced. But it less affected than other places. Also gets a cool new sea.

West Africa/North Africa gets fricked but most most areas remain but the fact a lot of cities will be gone means millions would be displaced but it’s not as extreme as the other continents.

In this scenario where all ice melts South America gets too cool as seas. Actually maybe more than 2 if you count the smaller ones to the north. Again many people displaced but cool spec evo potential.

I’m sad North America won’t get an interior sea way again probably ever but we can fix that. But Florida gone, millions of people displaced and I get beach front property. Also the poor Caribbean countries.

Asias is more horrifying as while it looks less like it’s just Bangladesh and China and the areas in which most people live in Asia will be underwater.

Can’t wait for the reverse when the Netherlands and Denmark will be underwater. Mosasaurs, plesiosaurs and extinct marine mammals can rejoice. It’s funny tall tulip sea conquers and mermaid lego people will be the first to go in this scenario.

I’m thinking of Atlantropa which was a proposal in Europe after WW1 by the Germans to dam and build like dikes and levees in the Mediterranean to block water flow from the ocean. Which irl might have literally caused the sea to become a cool salt desert.
