Lady Estelle-Jeanne

These portraits were created for the FE8 romhack The Shitpost Stones by @starsmasher64.bsky.social, where she is one of the main characters! It's a silly reskin with custom units, dialogue, and minor tweaks. The current demo (up to the route split) can be found here: drive.google.com/drive/folder...

I made FE-styled portraits of Orie from Under Night In-Birth! The left one was made to resemble the Fire Emblem portrait shading, while the right one more closely resembles her UNIB portrait.

I mean that makes sense. She was there.

I have written another fic.

"The Knight Who Never Dared to Dream" is a short fic centered around the Fell Xenologue's version of Chloé during her final, isolated moments.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses for the Nintendo Switch family of consoles features Claude, a third party to the central conflict between the Adrestian Empire and Kingdom of Faerghus. He is the main Frey for both this game and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes for the Nintendo Switch family of consoles.

In fact, Fates is when the idea of a Frey takes on a whole new form. Not only are the characters Freys, the setting itself has a prominent Frey—Valla, the third kingdom outside the rivalry. Revelation refers to the revelation that Revelation itself is a Frey to Birthright and Conquest! Do you see?!

Fates, as per usual, set things right once more. Not only did it include its own Freys in the form of Flora and Kagero, it retroactively established Owain as the Frey of what we now call the Awakening trio. In a way, even Corrin can be seen as the Frey between any counterpart—the eternal outsider.

This high, sadly, could not last. While Norne and Frey completed two of the series's first duos, and Horace was found to be the missing link between Dolph and Macellan, Awakening did not include any Frey. Fans were furious—does it matter if Awakening sold well if the heart of the series was lost?

The Frey archetype would continue to thrive in coming games, with Tellius in particular being filled with Freys; Bastian, Giffca, and Vika continue to be beloved characters to this day. Ranulf managed to serve as a Frey to two different Cain and Abel duos between games!

After the staggering success of the FE6 armor knights, it was only natural that the Cain, Abel, and Frey archetypes would reach new heights soon after. The first game to introduce Fire Emblem to the west would be spearheaded by lords reflecting the famous archetypes, with Lyn serving as its Frey.

However, I think it really should be known as the "Roberto archetype". Thracia's take on the Cain, Abel, and Frey archetypes are Kain, Alva, and...Robert, modeling himself after Archanea Saga's Roberto, who himself was a Frey to his cavalier colleagues Belf and Reiden. Another win for Archanea Saga.

The history of the Frey archetype is interesting to look at. Despite originating in Valentia (with Python rounding out the Cain/Abel that are Lukas and Forsyth), it was originally known as the Luke archetype, because it was more Archanean-esque, therefore more valid as an archetype.

They also tend to be blue. Easily recognizable Freys include Frey (FE11/12), Luke (FE3/12), Barthe (FE6) and Jean (Engage).

A brother archetype to the Cain and Abel archetypes, Freys are typically defined as "person who is also there to round out a trio". While Cain and Abels tend to have a rivalry or other significant duo connection, Freys tend to be relative outsiders, yet still serve as integral part of their trio.

Fire Emblem archetypes have always been a widely accepted and universally beloved concept. There's Ests, Jagens, Gotohs, and Malleduses, the latter of which literally just means "character who is a tactician", apparently. Amongst these archetypes, none are nearly as beloved as the Frey archetype.

I made FE-styled portraits of Gavèlle and Eustace from AAI2! These two make for an incredibly fun duo.

Thank you for being cool about it, Sothe, but that's not the issue here.

A few posts reminded me of what I believe to be the worst case of FEH misrepresenting a character. No, "Yunaka" isn't an act; she exaggerates herself at times, but it's the genuine person she chose to be. Larimar isn't her real name, it's her past self; part of what defines her, but not who she is.
