He did not bring girls home and shut Aaron out of his own dorm. He didn’t stay up all night partying and keep Aaron awake. He didn’t do coke in the bathroom. Suffice to say, Aaron’s standards were low. But while Neil was a half-decent roommate, he was also an irredeemable asshole. He seemed to find every little way to get on Aaron’s nerves. But that didn't explain why he starred in Aaron's most shameful dreams.

Not that Neil ever really moped, but it certainly did piss him off when he caught Aaron thinking of him as some pitiful creature. Therefore, Aaron tried to do that as frequently as possible. Was that really a smart pattern of thought to build given that Neil could be an enemy to all mankind? Probably not, but Aaron’s pettiness seemed to outweigh his intelligence when it came to his alien roommate. Maybe Neil was lonely. Maybe Earth and its ‘backwards’ ways were too difficult for him to stomach. Maybe he’d finally leave and Aaron could have some peace. Predictably, Neil threw an old, balled-up sock at him. Aaron wrinkled his nose and threw the sock back. “How do you take so long in the shower and your feet still stink?” “I leave the gunk between my toes just for you.” Sitting on the windowsill, Neil lifted his foot and wiggled his bare toes at Aaron. Then he stuffed yet another cigarette in his mouth and started chomping.

I always forget about WIP Wednesday, so here I am a day late. This is some alien aaroneil that was supposed to be porn without much plot, and is unfortunately transforming into something much larger.

But he knew—he knew. Neil’s head tilted, mouth quirking in amusement even if it didn’t meet his eyes. “Maybe I’m on the run from my evil, extraterrestrial, world-hopping father. And while he probably wouldn’t think to look for me on this backwards mess of a planet, I can’t help but worry he’ll someday find me here.” It sounded like insanity, yet Aaron couldn’t help but wonder if the words rang true. Neil had no reason to lie to him. After all, who was Aaron going to tell? If anything, Neil seemed to talk glee in Aaron’s discomfort with the truth. “Whatever. Just don’t make your fucked up father my problem. You’re stinking up the room.” Aaron pointedly waved his hand through the trail of smoke the wind was blowing into the dorm. Neil frowned, then stuck the remainder of the cigarette in his mouth and ate it. Because yeah. Sure. Why not?

WIP Wednesday for chapter 18 of Vis Vitalis (Vampire!Neil fic) #aftg

Andrew lazily reached for the ball of fluff, lifting the edge of his blanket so the little idiot could leech off Andrew’s body heat until he got up to make coffee. Unable to fall back asleep, Andrew ran his fingers through King’s ever-growing hair. “You’ve worn me down,” Andrew accused King, his voice rough with sleep. King only purred in answer. This was the first time Andrew had woken without tensing—without his mind jumping to the worst. A shift of weight on Andrew’s bed used to mean there was someone unwelcome climbing into it. Nowadays, it was just King coming to be a menace in one way or another. If woken unexpectedly, Andrew would usually lash out. It’d been his normal for many years, but this…was new. Different. Progress that Andrew hadn’t expected to make—something if he wasn’t sure he quite liked yet.
