As I was saying, we are a necessary item to rebel against the Prophecy however, this doesn't take away our parasitic like traits, which is probably why Kris doesn't like us too much. We rob them of bodily autonomy. But it seems to be a small price to pay.

We are, for whatever reason, meant to try and rebel against the prophecy and its ending (what Susie smashed in Chapter 4). And Susie, the angel that she is, is gonna be our biggest help here. Probably why Kris is so invested in her, from praying really hard for her to how they act around her.

Which, I think, is why Kris goes absolutely mental on the player during Chapter 4's weird route. Not only are we breaking the promise that was made to Kris, but we're repeating the same mistakes as them (probably) but nearly a hundred times worse. Like... we brainwash Noelle. We broke her.

It seems like we actively begin to drag the story back onto the prophecy route, as we drag "the girl" back into place in the party, "love finds the girl" in Chapter 4, and Susie has less and less means to get things off track with our help.

We are constantly told that "you can't change anything," but I dont think that's specifically to us, the soul.

It's a message to Kris, trying to break them so they have to live with the prophecy passing.

Now... why do I think this? Let's look to the weird route for that.

This is, mainly, from the view of a normal run. Kris seems to have everything set up with the help of whoever is on the other side of the phone, working together to change fate. The prophecy is actually being defied, all because Kris drags the soul with them. An entity that CAN change things.

-unless it heavily calls for their skills to pull off whatever we need to do (Piano, answer questions about them, etc). They also have a very close bond with Susie and Ralsei, going so far as to hurt themselves just to defy the soul to be nice to them.

I think DR, the game we are playing, has already happened once. Sure, it's a little different, but that's because Kris isn't in full control this time. We overwrite Kris' save at the very start of the game, and Kris takes a passenger-like backseat during the events we witness
