You have a story to tell. I want to hear it.

Looking at the complaints coming out of Indiana about Mellencamp after this made me realize....Indiana's kinda gross. A lot of "this guy sucks for not wanting babies shot and not hating immigrants" going on over there.

Can't go from "there's no way this team beats us" to trying to act like them losing isn't a big deal. Can't go from "enjoy losing in the 2nd round" to being in the ECF isn't a big deal.

They aren't to the chagrin of both you and I.

But if they were, understanding where they have him slotted in their depth chart, they would be playing him in games where they are having success. Giving him minutes at the start of 2nd and 4th quarters, not unlike his minutes earlier this year.

During their 33 point blow out of the 6ers? Are we in the apple or orange section of our orchard today? They played 9 guys.

I'm not saying there aren't minutes for Kolek or that I don't want to see those minutes, I'm saying down big in the first half nobody is sending in their 4th stringer.

Finished +3 in a game we lost by 15. I guess his minutes were cut short in the 1st half so he could play a long stretch in the 2nd half which was cut short by hacking, but they needed more Mitch minutes tonight.

I like Tyler, but nobody throws in their 4th string point guard in the middle of the game just to shake things up. Like Jeremy Lin, Kolek's only chance at minutes are significant injuries at the position. And by that, I mean Deuce and Brunson. Even then, they might put in Wright.

He's not a starter on this team, had one of the biggest positive impacts tonight, and he offers something this team sorely needs. But yes, he is comprimised specifically in late game situations where the Knicks are already in the penalty but not yet in the last 2 minutes.

Let's pack his bags.

I don't know how you prepare for it, but no excuse is right. If he wants to stay in the game he needs to prove he's a mid to high 70% FT shooter now. Of not he's going to miss late game situations.

His shot looks much better this year already, 80% before tonight. I wonder if fatigue or confidence issues caused by the Hack a Mitch strategy took him off his work while injured.

And now... Haha. Weird game.
March 20, 2025 at 2:05 AM
Definitely can be, but my point was that every lineup that didn't involve Mitch was bad in the first half. The struggle was real everywhere.
