Well language, particularly everyday spoken language, is driven subjectively and evolves constantly, it’s never fixed.

I can get why personally you’d not want to speak that way, but I don’t agree that it’s laziness, rather just different ways of experiencing and valuing language

Of course💕 but many people do use language trends as a way to feel involved in society and that’s ok too. Personally I find most pop culture language trends really annoying but I also get why they’re beneficial to socialising for some people

You can have good academic vocabulary and still indulge in colloquialisms, otherwise your vocabulary won’t comfortably accommodate for interpersonal interactions. For many people, it’s fun and rewarding to engage in society through language. Language isn’t just for academia
