My prediction for the economy the week after Liberation Day
April 2, 2025 at 7:53 PM
Wild that the day of “Liberation” is a day after the Democratic Party finding its voice, won a judicial election, defeated the richest person on the planet, and slashed MAGA support in half in some of the redest counties.

Can we say We are so Back? Is the embargo lifted?

Im getting a feeling in my poly sci bones that the full ramifications of the Cory Booker’s speech will not just be limited to the Guinness book of records thrill of it.

For any that may despair that Republicans won both seats in Florida, i would like to remind the council that it was never a question of “if” they would win, but rather by “how much” they won. And they did not, in some of the reddest part of one of the reddest states, win by much at all.

Didn’t watch the address tonight with a few assumptions in mind; namely that it’ll be a clusterfuck of wild claims complemented (un)nicely by lackluster response from democrats.

Please can I just be wrong just one time please im begging you.

I’d love to know the truly galaxy brain logic of *removing* people in order to improve outcomes in the one agency you want to succeed the most. Like, he’s not going to get who he logistically needs in charge in the time he wants them. It just ain’t happening

@scalzi.com This is so unrelated to everything else going on but I just wanted to say I finished reading Starter Villain recently and really enjoyed it. It was a fun story with an excellent twist that reminded me of home (the volcano lair of course, definitely not the proximate Chicago area).
