Work Immersion Days at YBS give students in the Bradford district a fun-filled, educational day at their Bradford office with engaging workshops, tour of the office & a careers panel among other things to help students better understand the world of work & improve their potential employment skills.

Our Y11 info evening was very well attended with support from local Post-16 providers & workshops such as How to Revise, Using GCSE Pod, Managing Stress, How to Use Your School Report and Post-16 Options. As we get ready for the traditional end of school for our Year 11 students with the Prom, we have been celebrating all of their achievements in school during the last 5 years with assemblies & end of year trips. We can't wait to see what they achieve next & wish them all the greatest of luck!

We have arrived and are seated at the Royal Opera House waiting for the performance of Carmen to start! So exciting! It's a stunning building!

Our Year 9 Scholars have this morning set off to London for an exciting trip to watch Carmen the Opera at the Royal Opera House, before enjoying a visit to the National Art Gallery.

Awards season continued for Appleton last night when we won the 'highly commended' prize for active schools at the Bradford Sports Awards. This is recognition of staff & students involved in a number of sports & outdoor pursuits & we are immensely proud to have again been nominated by our community.

Appleton Academy will host a VE Day party for invited guests on Thurs 8 May between 1.30pm & 3.00pm. If you know a member of our local community who has served in the armed forces, particularly during WWII, who may like to attend please email Mrs Parr via info@appletonacademy.co.uk.

We're delighted to report that Appleton Academy won the Secondary School of the Year Award at the T & A Education Awards on Thurs 3 April! This fantastic achievement is testimony to the community we have become over the last 15 years and all of us can be proud of our contribution!

We're delighted to have been nominated for the Active School Award at the Bradford Sports Awards 2025. This is recognition of the hard work of staff & students in encouraging & supporting sport at Appleton. From badminton to rugby league through to our upcoming summer sporting tour to Condover Hall.
