Definitely longer paths. That's probably just the bottom side of me saying that long stays are hot but short paths can also do that... I think I'm drawn more towards the long, complex though because of the opportunity for story narrative.

I also think what I like about AOM is the different pantheons you can choose from, Greeks, Egyptians, Norse, Atlantean, Chinese and Japanese (As well as the soon to be released Aztec pantheon) Where each of them just had such different playstyles and units to mess around with.

I like AOE but my personal favorite has always been Age of Mythology. I just really like the myth unit concept...also because I am a huge Dungeons and Dragons player so it's right up my alley. >3>
