I started a sketchbook for comfort zone ink drawings, because art shouldn’t be hard all the time.

I worked so hard to learn to draw and to sit still at times and enjoy the positive results of my effort is a courtesy I owe to myself.

Second (and third) layer is usually my least favorite because everything is in a state of flux and this is where problems present themselves the most. Also, I’ve noticed in faces that unfinished elements can easily lead to horror when put with more refined features.

I need to block the border (Source: Every Which Way Crochet Borders), but I love the textured stitch design of the main piece. It’s a yarn eater though, as it’s full of clusters.

“Floracosm” is a loose collection of stories about a young woman who inherits the nightmares of her dead aunt. Eventually she is led to a beautiful garden whose sky is forever starry, and she may have accidentally brought others to the garden too. Spoiler: garden is haunted.

First layer is always fun. It’s like a puzzle and in the beginning the big pieces stand out, but as the drawing progresses, it’s easy to lose the focal point, thus second layer is harder
