🚫 Collaboration between the National Crime Agency, Home Office & pimping websites has failed
🚫 Ofcom guidance for pimping websites is wholly inadequate
🚫Trafficking cannot be ‘designed out’ of the platforms
✅ There is strong cross-party support for outlawing online pimping

Our Chair @tonia-antoniazzi.bsky.social was pleased to meet the Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner to discuss her ongoing investigation into pimping websites.

This letter to the Commissioner sets out 5 major findings 👇

🚫 Pimping websites are key to the business model of sex trafficking

November 20, 2025 at 12:52 PM
❌ Advises police to use the ideological term ‘sex work’
❌ Undermines enforcement against sexual exploitation
❌ Provides scant detail on targeting sex buyers

Forces should look to Police Scotland's best practice, which responds to prostitution as violence against women. (2/2)

Our Chair @tonia-antoniazzi.bsky.social has written to Minister for Policing & Crime @sarahjonesmp.bsky.social to express serious concerns about the current policing approach to commercial sexual exploitation in England & Wales.

Guidance by the NPCC:
❌ Normalises sexual exploitation as ‘work’ (1/2)
November 13, 2025 at 3:58 PM
Guidance by Ofcom:

❌ allows high-risk practices on websites that enable sex trafficking, like third parties advertising multiple women for prostitution
❌ normalises commercial sexual exploitation as "sex work"

Concerns raised by MPs have been repeatedly ignored. 2/2

Pimping websites are used by sex traffickers to advertise victims

@ofcom.bsky.social guidance for these sites on implementing the Online Safety Act is totally inadequate and deeply harmful

Our Chair @tonia-antoniazzi.bsky.social has written to CEO Dame Melanie Dawes requesting urgent changes 1/2

💻 Online pornography is subject to much weaker safeguards than offline pornography.

The result: violence against women is commonplace in online pornography.

👏 Thank you to the 50+ MPs who have called on Government to combat commercial sexual exploitation through the Crime & Policing Bill.

❌ Our laws to deter demand, prosecute perpetrators and support victims are not fit for purpose.

It's time for change.

Pimping websites "make it as easy to order a woman to exploit as it is to order a takeaway."

Today @tracygilbertmp.bsky.social powerfully called on @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social @damedianajohnson.bsky.social
to update anti-pimping legislation to outlaw pimping websites 👏

Without demand from men who pay for sex, there would be no 'supply' of women to be abused in the prostitution and sex trafficking trade.

🗓️ On Monday 24 Feb our Vice Chair @carolynharris.bsky.social will ask the Government during Home Office Qs what action it is taking to reduce demand.
