The weather is finally breaking here. It's a little early yet but I really want to plant something.

The most obvious lesson to draw from the leaked Signal chat is that these people really are morons. It's not a public act, it's not a schtick, there's not some secret back room where they drop the facade. They are genuinely stupid, incompetent people.

Breath

Life arrives
curled in a tight ball
newborn that she is
slumbering
on my chest

I am at the end of my hours
the minutes tick ticking
the babe soundly sleeping
She breathes in

I breathe out
Together we slumber
In opposite directions

There are a few Trump voters who are coming to realize that Trump does not have America's best interest at heart. Too many left leaning people are slinging hate at them, becoming the very thing we are fighting against. This attitude will only keep us divided and helpless against authoritarianism.

Still crickets from the Trump administration. Also crickets from all the people who were complaining that Biden wasn't doing enough to help people in WNC.

It has been a week since the flooding hit West Virginia. The hardest hit was McDowell County, the poorest county in the state, where 3 people lost their lives. The Trump administration has yet to respond to the governor's state of emergency declaration, but hey. Trump did send a nice tweet.

From the beginning, the burning question for me was 'Why?'. It wasn't until I discovered this account that I realized that the bad faith players have a specific agenda as architects of a society that doesn't include democracy and freedom.
I don't make predictions. I monitor threat actors, their motives, their opportunities to cause harm, and then explain what will happen if we fail to protect from those threats. Again and again, we fail to protect ourselves because we fail to comprehend the adversary's motives.

Supposedly massive fraud has been discovered in which multiple payments are being made to the same Social Security number. I have a few questions. What evidence has been presented? Is this a case where dependents receive benefits legally under the main recipient's number? Is it just made up 1/2

Cutting revenues without any plan to replace them via tax cuts is coming home to roost in West Virginia. Morrissey projects a $400 million dollar deficit for 2025 and taxes will be cut another 4%. Whatever budget cuts are made are not going to benefit the working poor I'm sure.

We've been without power since Monday and with all the snapped power poles, it may be even longer. Hope our propane doesn't run out. In the meantime the views are gorgeous. #westvirginia

This is Ginny, my rescue pup. She is reactive and obstinate and at times she almost brings me to tears with her loud barking and stubborn ways. But then she cuddles up close or looks at me with her little head tilt or bounds through the yard exuding pure joy and suddenly it's all worth it.
