Was it able to do that? From what I recall, the only way it was ever used was for what's basically earth-bending

For technical stuff, something I'd recommend is plotting out your key frames with "Constant" as the default for your interpolation. Most programs will default to Bezier, which can throw off the animation if your still a beginner. But you can change the default in the Preferences

For fundamentals, obviously looking at the 12 principles of animation is a big help and there's plenty of online resources to help. And looking at references is a must, so I recommend looking at clips from shows. Trying to match the movements of something you like is great way to learn
