If you want to understand why healthcare pricing is horrific, the first thing to know is that our system puts 100% of the credit risk for deductibles, copays and co-insurance on hospitals and doctors. That's insane.

We have turned them into Sub Prime Lenders 🧵

#AI can do some amazing things in #radiology and medicine but its skills in generating radiology themed thanksgiving images are still pretty questionable.

#AI in #medicine & #radiology is only going to accelerate. I’ve used Aidoc and can absolutely understand why their revenue growth over 3 years (2020-2023) was over %1500. Powerful tools that help make healthcare better for patients.

This WSJ article has been making its way around the internet but it highlights some interesting points on how younger #physicians tend to value work/life balance as critical in their careers as compared to older generations.

Some additional thoughts:

Young Doctors Want Work-Life Balance. Older Doctors Say That’s Not the Job.
Physicians for generations accepted being at the mercy of their pagers. Now, many are questioning medicine’s workaholic culture.

Now that HB 4918 has been passed in MA, insurers must cover supplemental screening, diagnostic breast exams, digital breast tomosynthesis, MRIs and ultrasounds without patient cost-sharing. Huge news for patients’ access to vital screening and diagnostic imaging.

The ACR released Assess-AI, which “provides algorithm performance monitoring in clinical practice”.

Validating study in Radiology:

#Radiologists are more accurate when provided with patient symptoms/history.

This is why good information transfer between ordering clinicians and radiologists is so vital.
