JFC, I'm a decent chunk over the weight limit and not far off the height limit there, as a cis queer early 40s woman. Dangerous my arse.

Massive two fingers to families where somebody has a disability - care in the home saves the government a huge amount. Should family carers be forced out to work?

It seemed like such a small life - your husband, your kids and your home was all there was. I saw that when I was growing up and knew even as a kid that I wanted more from my life. I could never have been a Good Catholic Wife And Mother 🙃

Also the lady who was born in Bessborough - adoptive family on one side of the aisle, birth mum on the other and her half siblings demanding that she stopped contact with her birth mum.

The reminder of the power of the church back then was sickening - one of the women had her photos (of an innocent day out) shared with the priest, who demanded she be sent to a laundry...

One of the women had 13 kids by age 31, including 4 sets of twins, and a husband who appeared to drink more heavily as the family grew. She was quite literally having to feed the family from soup kitchens. That's an unbelievably hard life for anyone. Miracle that she is still standing tbh!
