We are heartened that the McGill Law Faculty Council today unanimously passed a resolution brought forward by our students concerning the intersection of #academicfreedom and security on campus.
Today, we marched on the @mcgillu.bsky.social campus with colleagues and students from across Quebec and Canada in protest against the uncollegial behaviour of Deep Saini and Christopher Manfredi, both of whom refuse even to speak with us so that we can resolve our strike.

It's fire season at @mcgillu.bsky.social. 67 scorching days during which Deep Saini, Christopher Manfredi, Fabrice Labeau, & Francis Desjardins put out the fires that they lit: finances, encampments, buried bodies, and strikes. We are ready to supply a hose if only they would ask. #AMPL_AMPD_strike

Feel sorry for McGill President Deep Saini. He is having a bad day & is engaging in uncollegial actions. He is (rightly) blamed for the disaster that is #Congress2024, for failing to negotiate with student protesters, & for having unions spring up on him due to his poor management.

Francis Desjardins is causing @mcgillu to break the law. Section 141 of the Quebec Labour Code makes it an offence for an employer to fail "to negotiate in good faith a collective labour agreement" with fines up to $1000 per day.

Il y a tellement de tromperies de la part de Droit McGill que nous sommes encore en train d'évaluer la section Négociation (mcgill.ca/law/profs/la...). Cette fois, il s'agit de la lenteur incroyable & indécente des négociations de @mcgillu.bsky.social , qui dépasse de loin les normes canadiennes.

There is so much deception by @mcgillu.bsky.social Law that we are still grading the Negotiation section of the FAQ (www.mcgill.ca/law/profs/la...). This time, we discuss @mcgillu's incredibly, indescribably, indecently slow pace of negotiations, far in excess of Canadian norms.
Les enfants savent qu'il ne faut pas blâmer les autres pour leurs erreurs. Ce n'est pas le cas du président de @mcgillu, Deep Saini, qui blâme le QC pour les coupures, les étudiants pour avoir manifesté, les Mohawk Mothers pour avoir empêché la construction et les profs pour avoir voulu négocier!

More deception by McGill Law on negotiations. @mcgillu.bsky.social claims it met 23 times with us. Senior administrators either can't add or are not telling the truth. McGill has repeatedly failed to show up prepared, has cancelled at the last minute, & has not responded to proposals.

Il n'y a pas d'objectif plus important pour Christopher Manfredi que l'antisyndicalisme: ni l'intégrité des diplômes (il les offre sans l'approbation), ni le bien-être des étudiants (les étudiants de Droit McGill n'auront pas de notes à fournir aux employeurs ou aux barreaux).

There is no more important goal for Christopher Manfredi than union busting: not the integrity of @mcgillu.bsky.social diplomas (he is offering them without proper approval), not student welfare (McGill Law students won't have grades to provide to employers or law societies) & not employees.
