Many say they are “troubled.” Others call for more aid, more access, more restraint. Some go further, saying that what might once have been a just war is now a war of collective punishment. But they almost always present this shift as a response to new information, as though the horror only began when food ran out, as though the facts have changed. But the facts haven’t changed. The threshold was crossed long ago. What has changed is not the nature of the war, but the narrative surrounding it.“ Text that says: „These shifts are presented as if they arise from new discoveries—as if something in the evidence has changed. But they have less to do with facts than with the fear that history may remember them poorly.
