November and December usually are the months full of doom and gloom, the valley covered by a blanket of fog, cool air trapped under the fog as the sun can't penetrate the fog to warm the air.
But not just yet.
The sun is still able to dispel the fog by mid-morning, and is able to warm up the air.

Note to self: next time I volunteer to be the person at the rear end of a large-ish hiking group, I better be prepared not getting any hiking done, because the person at the rear end is most likely the one that has to turn around and take care of too slow or injured group members.

Today daughter and I participated in a sports event in one of the most beautiful areas my home state has to offer.
My daughter ran the quarter marathon, and I nordic walked the same distance.

On the second day we took Europe's longest subterranous funicular to the Hochwurten artificial lake at 2235 m above sea level. From there we hiked along the slopes of skiing ressort up to the remnants of a glacier at app. 2800m, and took a cable car, and again the funicular to get back.

I participated in a running event as a Nordic Walker today.
I finished as the second female walker, and fifth overall.
Props to my nephew, who finished his first half-marathon today.

I hiked with a friend and her dog up to the refuge in the last picture.
No summit was conquered on this hike, as my hiking companion has some problems with one leg, and can't hike long distances.

I participated in my first ever sports event today: a pink ribbon charity run, in which I competed as a Nordic Walker.
I finished in 9th place overall, and as the fifth in my age group.
So I absolutely fulfilled my goal, which was to make it into the top ten.

After 2 hours trying to dismantle this argument with a a fellow (female) colleague (talking to a wall would have been more fruitful) I have no words left.

Anyway, on Tuesday I joined a group of pilgrims for a spiritual walk in preparation for Easter.
It felt good to be walking and to simply "be", without time constraints or appointments, for one day

I just wanted to skeet something about an angry reaction I had about something very minor, and realized mid-typing, just how insignificant this is.
I am enraged about many things, but can't do anything about them, because they are happening in other countries.

Three of my hydrangeas didn't survive the unusually dry winter, and I had to dig them out. Will replant the sedums in that plot - they need less water.

I finally managed to take husband to hot springs ressort for a prolonged weekend.
We are both desperately in need of some relaxing days, as work has been insane for many weeks with no indication of it getting any better in the foreseeable future.

And this morning my shins from the downhill 😅
The loop is rather steep in parts of the ascend, and I'm feeling my gutes today.
This afternoon the weather was sunny, temperatures slightly above freezing point and no wind chill.
So I put on my hiking boots and walked a loop up the foothills.
Have picture of the view and the trash I collected along the way 🙄
